Married to a Rockstar!

Matt has been playing the bass guitar since he was about 17 years old.  He is self-taught and has worked hard to play as well as he does.  Anyone who knows Matt knows how important music is to him.  Through the years he has been a part of many music projects and bands.  He is currently a member of the band called Gear.  He practices with the band once a week which gives him the musical outlet he needs.  They recently performed at a club in downtown San Diego.  They sounded great!  And I got to go home with the bass player-hehe!

Kai's Messy 7th Birthday

Kai wanted a "slime" party for his birthday this year...he was invisioning something off Nickelodeon channel with buckets of slime dumping on everyone.  We toned it down a bit and made slime that the kids could take home.  And instead of being covered in slime we played some "messy" games.  We started with the kids eating a powdered donut off a string without using their hands.  Then they had to eat gummy "bugs" off a plate that was covered in whipped cream without using their hands.  We then gave them shaving cream for styling their hair and Crayola washable markers for body art.  After they were thoroughly messy they had a water fight using splash balls and squirt guns and eventually everyone was hosed down.  We then made slime using school glue, borax, water, and food coloring...so cool!  After cake and presents it was swimming time.  It was such a fun, messy party!!

Jamie Cullum

Matt and I went with Emily and JD to see Jamie Cullum at Humphrey's on the bay.  We had a delicious dinner at the Humphrey's restaurant and then went outside, right next to the water, to see Jamie Cullum perform.  It was one of those magical nights...the weather was perfect, the music was so good, we were 4th row, I slow danced with my husband right in front of the stage while Jamie serenaded, and we found Jamie and the band swimming in the pool after the show.  Such a fun, perfect night!

Fourth of July

For the Fourth of July we went to Westview High on Friday night and Poway High on Sunday night to see fireworks.  I love celebrating America...God bless America!

Flowers

After working for Twigg Botanicals (twiggbotanicals.com) for the past three years where I was taught to arrange flowers by the incredibly talented Robin Mathis, I made my first attempt at arranging flowers on my own for an engagement party...

The Battle Continues

My nemesis, the Blog strikes again...after working hours and days on updating my blog I finally added my new posts around 1:30 in the morning only to find out that the posts are a complete MESS...Aaaaaahhhhh! So now I get to work on fixing my messed up blog...I will defeat you Blog! Better yet, can't we just get along and be friends?!

Any advice on how to add photos and text without the text ending up in random places and on how to not have a ton of empty space would be greatly appreciated! Help me my blogging friends!
